CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit is asking for the public's assistance in an ongoing homicide investigation.
According to the Hampden County District Attorney's office, 28-year-old Luis Vazquez of Springfield was shot in the area of the 500 block of Center Street in Chicopee on Saturday, Aug. 21. He died from his injuries on Aug. 29.
Police are asking for anyone in the area of Center Street in the early morning hours of Aug. 21 and may have witnessed anything useful to the investigation to come forward and contact the State Police at 413-505-5993 or Chicopee police at 413-594-1740.
Witnesses can anonymously text a tip by texting 274637 and type the word "SOLVE" into the body of the text message, followed by the tip.
