WORCESTER, Mass. - The 7th annual Hill-O-Ween event took over Worcester’s Union Hill neighborhood Monday evening.

It's a partnership between the Worcester Police Department, Saint John’s Food for the Poor and Worcester Academy. The event gives children who live in the Union Hill, Grafton Hill and Vernon Hill neighborhoods a safe way to celebrate Halloween.

Worcester police officer Sean Lovely helped organize the event. He said it now draws families from all over the city.

"We’re very fortunate,” Lovely said. “We have a lot of supporters that are very giving when they know it’s for the children. It's mainly public school children, we do have some parochial school kids that come, and every child that comes here leaves with handfuls and bags full of candy."

Lovely said supporters donated $10,000 dollars to buy the candy. They filled a van and a truck with sweets to bring it to the event this year, and the kids looked like they all had a great time.
