WORCESTER, Mass. – The state's Restaurant Meals Program is expanding to include food trucks.

It allows people to use SNAP benefits at approved restaurants and food trucks in Massachusetts.

The Department of Transitional Assistance said food trucks allow for quick access to meals and provide more locations since they are mobile.

The goal of the program is to make sure every resident has access to nutritious food.

Massachusetts is the first state in the country to expand the program to include food trucks.
