On Tuesday, the Massachusetts Department of Recreation and Conservation (Mass DCR) in coordination with All Out Adventures held the second of three adaptive ice skating programs at Worcester's Buffone Arena. The program provides opportunities for those with disabilities to enjoy a day on the ice. All Out Adventures Executive Director Karen Foster Cannon told Spectrum News 1 the program's main goal is inclusivity. Cannon, "People who have disabilities live in a world and in a society where they often receive messages of not belonging and in a world not necessarily meant for them. So we're out here with sled skates and assistants and skate walkers sending that message that people who have disabilities belong in all of our facilities and by being out here and accessing the program with us, many people will go on.to come to public skate or start to do activities on their own out in the community."

About sixty people participated in today's activity.

In their 25th year, All Out Adventures partners with Mass DCR to hold these free Adaptive Ice Skating events all Mass DCR facilities across the Commonwealth. Information on the program can be found here.
