With a lot of development happening in town a newly elected member of the Shrewsbury select board is proposing installing wildlife corridors in heavy traffic areas such as Route 9, 20 and 140. Select board member Anand Sharma said there are crashes involving wildlife in town every day, many involving deer. Sharma said he met with State Senators Michael Moore and State Representative Hannah Kane to see if the Commonwealth could help with funding a project like this.

Select board member Sharma, "So we are requesting from them like they could have some kind of measure to protect the lives. We can avoid the accident on the Route 20, 140, and Route 9. Maybe they can create the fence. They can create the culvert, like the crossing under the road. And that's where like deer or small animal can cross. So those kind of we are looking. whatever the capacity they can help."
