It's obvious that Worcester Red Sox manager Iggy Suarez participates in a strict fitness regiment. On this week's Inside The Clubhouse the WooSox skipper reveals the secret to his weight lifting. "I'm very fortunate that I got my grandfather's arms. I was a very picky eater growing up. And the way that they would get me to have my soup before my meal, my grandfather would flex on me and show his arms. And I believed that it was because of the soup. So I started eating that soup pretty quick. But I thank my grandfather for those genetics, for sure. Before all the supplements, it was soup."
It's stories like this that Suarez said makes him proud to represent his family in professional baseball, "I think that's something that I don't take for granted. The support from my family that they've given me throughout my life as a kid growing up and just starting in the game and then going through Little League and sacrificing the time to have me allowed to play baseball. Same thing with my brother. To be able to do that and for me to go to college and I still have the support now. I'm very, very lucky. I don't forget that. I don't take that for granted, for sure. And I know they're proud of me."
