Susan Cover joined Spectrum News Maine as a Digital Journalist in August 2021.

Originally from Ohio, Susan moved to Augusta, Maine in 2002 to cover state politics and government. Over her career as a reporter and editor, she is proud to have covered topics ranging from migrant farm workers to gay marriage to Maine’s criminal justice system.

One story Susan holds especially dear was when she spent a couple years following a family with a loved one who developed early onset Alzheimer’s disease. While the story was heartbreaking, it offered valuable insights on both the disease and how to cope with it throughout every stage.

When not reporting, you might find Susan walking trails or kayaking the rivers in central Maine. She also enjoys learning about anything and everything, and loves to do so by reading books and visiting museums. She’s a proud pet mom to dog Wooley and cat Piper.
