On this edition of In Focus Maine, we take a look at the city of Biddeford.

We interviewed Mayor-Elect Liam LaFountain about the city’s rich history, its revitalization, its sense of community and the holiday offerings that are drawing visitors this season.

LaFountain is a lifelong resident.  He says he ran for mayor to make sure the city remains affordable for long time and new residents.

We also spoke with Delilah Poupore, the CEO of The Heart of Biddeford. The non-profit started more than 20 years ago to help revitalize the downtown area. Poupore says when she began her job in 2011 there were 27 vacancies on Main Street.  Today it is almost completely full.

She talks about how in partnership with the city, the neighborhood and area businesses have revitalized the city.
