Thunder Road Farm in Corinna will honor Maine native Cooper Flagg with a corn maze depicting his path to the NBA.

The maze shows Flagg dunking a basketball with the words “Cooper, The Maine Event,” underneath.

Flagg, a Newport native, was the first overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks in this year’s NBA Draft in June.

Flagg’s connection to Thunder Road Farm goes back to his childhood, said Kellen Peavey, the son of the farm’s owners, Charlie and Barbara Peavey.

“I’ve known Cooper for a long time,” Kellen Peavey said. “We won a state championship together at Nokomis back in high school in 2022. He also worked on this farm as well, picking strawberries and peas when he was younger.”

The maze is roughly six acres, according to Peavey.

He also said Flagg’s mother, Kelly, had a large part in the design.

The corn maze will be open from Sept. 13 to Oct. 26. Tickets will be $12 for those between the ages of four and 59, $10 for those 60 and older and free for children three and under.

The farm plans to raffle off a Cooper Flagg autographed basketball for charity when the maze opens, Peavey said. The date and charity have not been determined.
