Police are investigating what they say is a murder-suicide that occured Wednesday in Hiram.

State troopers responded to a disturbance at a home at the end of Clemons Cove shortly after 4 p.m., according to a news release from Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.

There, they found Stephanie Ranieri, 43, and Chad Adams, 48, both of Hiram, both deceased. Police investigated the scene throughout Wednesday evening.

Ranieri and Adams were previously in a relationship, according to Moss.

Autopsies were conducted Thursday.

The state’s medical examiner has ruled the death of Ranieri as a homicide and the death of Adams as a suicide.

There is no threat to the public, Moss said.

The case remains under investigation.
