A Porter man was killed by a gunshot wound in Standish on Tuesday, according to Shannon Moss of the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office deputies came to a residence on Kennie Drive shortly before 9:30 p.m., “following a report of an altercation,” Moss said.
Deputies found a deceased man identified as Thomas Foster, 23, of Porter, according to Moss.
“A second adult male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Moss said.
Foster’s body was taken to the chief medical examiner’s office in Augusta.
“The cause of death has been determined to be a gunshot wound, and the manner of death a homicide,” Moss said.
The public is not in danger and the shooting is under investigation, according to Moss.
There was no word of arrests or charges stemming from the incident.
