Maine Warden Service will be searching the town of Eastbrook on Saturday in hopes of solving a nearly 10-year-old missing person’s case.
Russell Burnett of Franklin was 47 years old when he was last seen on or around Feb. 21, 2017, according to Shannon Moss of the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Burnett was last seen near his home at 323 Eastbrook Road in Franklin, according to Moss. “It is believed that he left his residence on foot, accompanied by his dog.”
Burnett was reported missing on Feb. 23.
“Previous searches of the surrounding property and residence have been conducted without success,” Moss said. “Regrettably, Russell Burnett has not been located.”
Wardens will lead a search in Eastbrook on Saturday.
“This search will be classified as a routine search of a high probability area, which is frequently conducted in missing person cases such as this,” Moss said.
The public is not being asked to assist the search, but anyone with information is asked to call Maine State Police Det. Dana Austin at (207) 973-3700, ext. 9. Information can also be submitted online.
