A Sullivan man was killed Friday morning in Hancock, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.
State police responded to the crash shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Route 1 near Washington Junction, Moss said.
“The initial investigation indicates a motorcycle traveling westbound crossed into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with an eastbound pickup truck,” Moss stated.
The motorcycle's driver, Jim Hoyt, 44, of Sullivan was wearing a helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck’s driver sustained minor injuries.
Route 1 was temporarily closed while police investigated and crews cleared the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
