Portland police have identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run on Forest Avenue.

Nichele Roakes, 57, of Portland was struck and killed near 1837 Forest Ave. on Aug. 24.

“The vehicle fled the scene following the crash,” police stated. “Witnesses described the vehicle as a dark-colored pickup truck that was last seen traveling inbound on Forest Avenue.”

Police are asking for the public’s help in its investigation, including first-hand witnesses, those who may have information about the crash and those with video footage including footage from dashcams, doorbell cameras and security cameras.
